Bom Sucesso Resort, situated near the ancient town of Óbidos in Portugal, stands as a testament to modern architecture.

Architecture is a form of plastic expression that, when qualified, allows us to live in a work of art, to spend the best moments of our lives in aesthetics, and our free time in pleasure.

This 5-star resort features around 600 residences, each a unique masterpiece designed by acclaimed architects, including three Pritzker Prize winners. It’s a permanent showcase of contemporary architecture!

A creative fusion of architecture and nature

The collective vision for Bom Sucesso Resort was to create a harmonious blend of contemporary architecture and the natural landscape. The architects meticulously designed each residence to complement the surrounding environment, utilizing traditional Portuguese elements alongside modern design principles. 

This approach ensures that the resort not only offers luxury and comfort but also celebrates Portugal’s rich architectural heritage.

The resort’s design is the collaborative effort of 23 architects, both Portuguese and international, who have seamlessly integrated modern aesthetics with the natural landscape. Notable contributors include:​

Álvaro Siza Vieira

A Pritzker Prize laureate, Siza’s work is celebrated for its harmonious integration with the environment. His designs at Bom Sucesso exemplify minimalist elegance and contextual sensitivity.

Eduardo Souto de Moura

Another Pritzker Prize winner, Souto de Moura’s contributions to the resort reflect his mastery in blending modernist principles with traditional Portuguese elements. 

David Chipperfield

The British architect’s designs at Bom Sucesso are characterized by their simplicity and functionality, contributing to the resort’s cohesive architectural narrative.

Gonçalo Byrne

A prominent Portuguese architect, Byrne’s work at the resort showcases his commitment to contextual design and respect for the surrounding landscape. ​

Inês Lobo

Known for her innovative approach, Lobo’s designs at Bom Sucesso reflect her dedication to creating spaces that resonate with their environment. 

João Luís Carrilho da Graça

His contributions to the resort are marked by a minimalist aesthetic that emphasizes the beauty of simplicity and the integration of natural materials. ​

Madalena Cardoso Menezes and Francisco Teixeira Bastos

This duo designed a single-story villa overlooking the golf course, exemplifying modern design principles within the resort.
